# Announcement Bar on Shopify Thank You Pages

Announcement bar. One line, at the top of the order page.

Orders placed this week ship on Monday. A shipping delay. A holiday cut-off. This tool puts one short message at the top of the thank you and order status pages, where your customer is already looking.

Where your customer sees it: the Thank you page and the Order status page, in the Tacey editing tools block. On every plan; plans differ by order volume only.

## What your customer sees

1. You write one short line, up to 160 characters, and choose which pages show it.
2. Your customer sees it at the top of the thank you page, the order status page, or both. It is not a button and asks nothing of them.
3. Customers in a language you wrote the message for read it in that language. Everyone else reads your main message.

## What you control

- **Message**: One short line, up to 160 characters. Your customer reads it exactly as you write it.
- **Where it shows**: Both pages (the default), the thank you page only, or the order status page only.
- **Your message in other languages**: Write the message yourself for any language you serve. Customers in a language you leave out read the main message.
- **Start showing and Stop showing**: Optional. Leave them empty to show the bar as soon as it is on and until you turn it off. Times are in your store's timezone.
- **Link**: Optional. A web address that starts with https://, and the words your customer clicks, also per language. Anything that is not https:// is not saved, so no link shows.

## What it refuses

- Showing anything until you write a message. With no message, the bar draws nothing.
- Saving a link that does not start with https://.

## Money

No money moves, and nothing about the order changes.

## FAQ

### Does the customer do anything with it?

No. It is a notice. The customer reads it, and there is nothing to tap unless you add a link.

### Does it depend on the edit window?

No. It is shown on the pages regardless of any order's edit window.

### Can I schedule it?

Yes. Set a start and a stop time in your store's timezone, or leave them empty.

### Does my customer see this automatically?

Not until you add Tacey's block to the two pages. In Shopify's checkout and customer accounts editor, choose Add block, then Tacey editing tools, and save, on both the Thank you page and the Order status page. Turning a tool on in Tacey does not place the block for you.

### Is this tool on every plan?

Yes. Plans differ by how many orders you send through Tacey each month, never by which tools you get.

## Related tools

- [Ask for help](/features/contact-support): A message from the order page straight to your inbox, with the customer's own address as the reply-to. Still there after the edit window closes.
- [Download invoice](/features/download-invoice): The receipt, any time, even after the edit window closes. Opened as a link or sent by email, your choice.
- [Order notes & gift messages](/features/order-note): A note for you, or a gift message for the person who receives the parcel. It works on orders the item tools will not touch.
