# Customer Invoice Download for Shopify Orders

Download invoice. A receipt that never needs a ticket.

Customers ask for invoices long after the edit window has closed. This tool gives them an invoice for their order from the order page, to print or save as a PDF, with your branding on it.

Where your customer sees it: the Thank you page and the Order status page, in the Tacey editing tools block. On every plan; plans differ by order volume only.

## What your customer does

1. Your customer opens "Make changes to your order" and chooses Download invoice.
2. The invoice opens as a link, or arrives by email, as you chose.
3. They print it or save it as a PDF. Nothing about the order changes.

## What you control

- **How the customer gets it**: As a link they open, or sent to their email. Email always goes to the address already on the order, never to one the customer types in.
- **Branding and business details**: Logo, store name, public email, website, legal name, business address and tax or VAT number. Blank keeps what Shopify knows.
- **Thank-you line**: Printed at the bottom of every invoice. Leave it blank and the invoice says thank you in your customer's language.
- **Taxes**: Show the plain tax total, or the total then each tax with its rate and amount. Choose your own word for tax, such as VAT or GST, and add a line saying prices include tax.
- **Extra details on the invoice**: Order details from your store, such as a purchase order number. Each one an order has a value for is printed under the totals.
- **Settings for each market**: Give one market its own logo, names, tax number or thank-you line.

## What it refuses

- Nothing about the edit window or the order type. It stays available after the edit window closes.
- Sending the invoice to an address the customer types in. Email goes to the address on the order.

## Money

No money moves. Nothing is charged or refunded, and nothing about the order changes.

## FAQ

### Does it work after the edit window closes?

Yes. A receipt is needed long after any edit window, so this tool is not tied to it.

### Is it Shopify's invoice?

No. Tacey builds its own invoice from the order, with the branding, tax and business details you set.

### Can a customer have it sent to a different email?

No. Email delivery always goes to the address already on the order.

### Does my customer see this automatically?

Not until you add Tacey's block to the two pages. In Shopify's checkout and customer accounts editor, choose Add block, then Tacey editing tools, and save, on both the Thank you page and the Order status page. Turning a tool on in Tacey does not place the block for you.

### Is this tool on every plan?

Yes. Plans differ by how many orders you send through Tacey each month, never by which tools you get.

- [Ask for help](/features/contact-support): A message from the order page straight to your inbox, with the customer's own address as the reply-to. Still there after the edit window closes.
- [Order notes & gift messages](/features/order-note): A note for you, or a gift message for the person who receives the parcel. It works on orders the item tools will not touch.
- [Update contact details](/features/edit-contact): A mistyped email means a missed delivery update. Your customer fixes their own email or phone number, and the old email address is told.
