# Ask Shopify Sidekick About Any Order

Sidekick belongs to Shopify and sits in the admin merchants already use. Tacey registers the tools it calls, so a question about an address, an edit window, or last month's numbers gets an answer from the store instead of a guess. Tacey is never a chat product of its own. That surface was deliberately removed.

## What you can ask it

- "Can order 4470884 still be edited?": reads the window, the status and the tags.
- "Stop allowing cancellations after 2pm.": stages a rule change, then waits for approval.
- "Block PO boxes at checkout.": stages a validation setting with last month's numbers attached.
- "How many addresses did we fix last month?": reads the record, including anything the warehouse never confirmed.

## Two ways in, and only one of them draws anything

- **Reading, headless**: Sidekick asks, Tacey answers, Sidekick speaks. No Tacey pixels at all; the reply is Shopify's own, built from the data Tacey's tools returned.
- **Approving, inline**: when something is about to change, Tacey renders the staged change as a labelled app block inside Sidekick's own panel. Their chrome stays theirs; the card is labelled Tacey's.

## It never changes an order on its own

Every staged change spells out the before, the after, and whether money moves, then stops. Approve or cancel, either way the decision is written to the record with the approver's name on it. No setting turns that off; an assistant does not get an exemption from the rest of Tacey's rules.

## What this is not

- A Tacey chat window, or an assistant of Tacey's own
- A model deciding anything about orders
- A second place to configure the app
- A way for money to move without a confirmation
- Something to switch on or learn
- Available only on a higher plan
