# Shopify Theme Detector - Find Any Store's Theme

Paste a storefront. Find out which Shopify theme it runs, and which version.

## Detect what theme any Shopify store uses

Paste any Shopify storefront URL. The detector identifies the theme name, version, and any theme app extensions installed - useful when scoping a competitive analysis, researching what's working in your category, or vetting a freelance theme dev's prior work.

## One input, one output

1. Paste the storefront URL (e.g. brand.com or brand.myshopify.com).
2. Click Detect. The check runs in 2-4 seconds.
3. Read the theme name + version. Free Shopify themes (Dawn, Sense, Refresh, etc.) and paid themes (Impulse, Prestige, Symmetry, Empire, etc.) are both detected.
4. Note any theme app extensions visible in the storefront - good signal for what apps the store uses.

## How merchants actually use theme detection

- Use it to research competitors - see which paid themes high-performing stores in your category run, then evaluate whether the same theme would work for you.
- Vet a freelance theme developer's portfolio. Do their claimed past projects actually run the theme they claim to have customized?
- Identify storefronts running outdated theme versions (security + performance signal). Outdated themes are often slower and may have known bugs.

## Theme name, version, and any visible app extensions

The theme name (e.g. 'Impulse' or 'Dawn'), the version number where detectable, and a list of theme app extensions visible in the storefront markup. Five uses per IP per day on the free tier.
