This page lists every cookie tacey.app sets, what each one is for, and how long it lasts. It is written to stand on its own, and it works alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers what we do with personal information more broadly, and our GDPR page.
Nothing except the strictly necessary cookies below runs until you choose. That is true in every country, including those where the law does not require it. We would rather ask than depend on correctly guessing where you are.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent is exactly as easy as giving it.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we treat it as an opt-out of sharing for advertising and honour it whatever else is set. It can only ever turn things off, never on, and it does not overwrite your own stored choice.
These are always on. Without them the site cannot remember what you decided.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
tacey_consent | Stores the choice you made in the banner, so you are not asked again on every page. Holds only your per-category decision and the date you made it. | 1 year |
tacey_geo | A two-letter country code, used to decide which privacy notice to show you. It holds no IP address, no city and no coordinates. | 1 day |
Off until you allow it. These tell us which pages get read and where people give up. We do not sell this data.
| Cookie | Set by | Lasts | |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics, to tell repeat visits apart from new ones. | Up to 2 years | |
mp_* | Mixpanel, to tell repeat visits apart from new ones. | ||
ph_*_posthog | PostHog, to count page views and measure how quickly pages load for real visitors. | 1 year | Up to 1 year |
| none | Ahrefs Web Analytics, to count page views and see which pages earn search traffic. It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser, and it still only runs if you allow analytics. | Not stored |
Its own choice, separate from Analytics. Off everywhere, including the United States, until you turn it on. When allowed, we can see a recording of how a visit unfolded, mouse movement, scrolling, clicks, and typed input in some fields, so we can find and fix real problems with the site. We do not run this to identify a visitor personally.

|---|---|---|
_clck, _clsk | Microsoft Clarity, to connect the pages of one visit into a single recording. | Up to 1 year |
Off until you allow it, in every country, including the United States. We run the Meta Pixel so we can see which ads and pages actually lead to an install, and so we can show tacey.app ads to people who already visited. It does not run until you choose “Accept all” or turn Marketing on in Cookie preferences.
| Cookie | Set by | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta Pixel, to tell one browser apart from another. | 3 months |
_fbc | Meta Pixel, set only if you arrived by clicking a Meta ad. | 3 months |
We also send some of the same events to Meta directly from our own server (its “Conversions API”), for the same advertising purpose, and only for a visitor who has allowed Marketing cookies. This never runs for a visitor who has not, and never includes your name or email unless you gave it to us yourself, such as by requesting a free tool’s report by email.
We run Intercom so you can reach a person. It sets cookies to keep a conversation attached to you between page loads.
| Cookie | Set by | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
intercom-* | Intercom, to keep your support conversation open across pages. | Up to 9 months |
The “Book a demo” button opens a booking calendar hosted by Google. An embedded calendar sets Google cookies as soon as it appears on screen, so we do not put it on the page until you either have accepted Functional cookies or press the button that loads it. If you never open it, Google sets nothing.
| Cookie | Set by | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Google account and preference cookies | Google Calendar, to sign you in to your own calendar and remember your preferences. | Set by Google, up to 24 months |
The demo video is different: we host that file ourselves, so playing it sets no third-party cookie at all.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use cookies to build a profile of you for resale. We do run one advertising tracker, the Meta Pixel described above, and only for a visitor who has allowed Marketing cookies.
This page covers tacey.app, our own website. It does not describe the Tacey app installed on a Shopify store. Tacey works on the order-status page Shopify already serves your customers, after payment; what that page sets is governed by Shopify and by your own store’s privacy policy.
Write to hello@taceysupport.app and a person will answer.
